How to Holiday

I’ve teamed up with my sweet friend, Leigh Mackenzie from The Church Girl Writes, to bring you a fun, little holiday project! She has been blogging for the past year and much like myself has a heart for Jesus and fashion. We are so excited to bring you a few holiday looks we have put together. My original idea for this collaboration birthed from the idea to showcase how we would wear something based on our age group. If I’m being honest though, Leigh and I don’t really play by the rules or by some number that dictates what we should be wearing. We wear what we like.  We wear what we feel good in. We wear what makes us feel confident and we want to inspire you to do the same!

The holidays are a fun time with so many things going on. We know your schedules are busy, so we are here to help simplify your life by helping you figure out what to wear for all your holiday gatherings.

Look #1: Holiday Girls Night Out
Trendy vs. Vintage

When you’re out with your girlfriends you want to feel your best. You want to feel confident and most like yourself. So, pick out your favorite outfit from your closet and add a little holiday to it! I went for trendy and a little edgy while Leigh chose a vintage piece.

I picked my favorite black crushed velvet jumpsuit and added a raspberry colored jacket to give it a little more of a holiday feel. Let’s not forget to mention the gold sparkle heels that I rarely have an occasion to wear. They seemed like the perfect holiday touch!
Leigh loves her vintage pieces and always looks fabulous in them! She went for a non-traditional holiday green dress with a touch of fur.

Don’t have a lot of the traditional red and green Christmas colors in your wardrobe? No worries, variations of the shades can look just as festive.

What do you love to wear?? Trendy or Vintage?

Look #2: After Work Holiday Party
Business or Pleasure

It can be so easy to go from the office to the after party! We both went with a plaid pant because we are loving the plaid trend happening right now! Who else is loving that comeback?! We each paired it with a blouse. I went with a pop of red and Leigh kept with the neutrals. If you are looking for an excuse to pull out your reds, this is the time of the year to do it but if you are more of a neutrals girl they fit right into a holiday look as well. Add a fun jacket or fancy purse or a red lip and you’re ready to head straight to the after party!

Look #3: Holiday Evening Out
Dress It Up

As many of you know, red is my color! I love how confident it makes me feel! So during the holidays I’m pulling out every bit of red I have in my closet. This red crocheted dress was something I already had but rarely worn. I added a gold belt and a vintage purse, that used to my grandma’s, to add a little extra pizzazz. Leigh pulled out another vintage winter dress from her closet. How cute is she?! She chose neutrals again but added a pop of holiday red with her handbag. We are now ready to dance the night away!

Do you have holiday parties and events coming up this month? What will you be wearing? Will you stick with the traditional holiday colors or step outside the box a little?

We hope this has inspired you to dig in your closet and dress up the things you already have in there! Grab a look you love and add your own little holiday magic to it!

We would love to see what you’re wearing because you guys inspire us too! Be sure to tag us both on social media (HERE and HERE) so we can see what your rocking this holiday season!

Now head on over to The Church Girl Writes and read Leigh’s fun take on our little collaboration!

Have the best holiday season! Sending you all so much love!

Keep shining, A. Flavio
