Summer may be fighting to leave in some areas but I think it’s safe to say that fall has arrived! As much as I am a summer girl, I love all things fall just about as much. It’s such a cozy season! Everything about it feels so warm and inviting and shall I say a bit romantic. It’s the kind of season that makes you just want to snuggle into it, so to speak. This time of year makes us all want to transition our homes, our closets, and our drinks (where are my pumpkin spice lovers?!).
So today I’m sharing 5 easy ways to transition your home to create a cozy fall space for you and your family and friends!
Scents- Nothing says fall quite like the smell of pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and apple. Add your favorite candle, a room plugin, diffuse some oils, or make your own potpourri blend. I love coming home and walking into my house smelling like someone has been baking all day.
Texture- I’ve been in the process of transitioning my home from lots of color to mostly neutrals and creams. Anyone else loving the all neutral look as much as I do?! One of the ways I think to keep your home from seeming too boring when sticking with mostly whites and creams is by adding texture. And I think fall is the perfect time to add even a little bit more texture than your other seasons. Texture provides depth, warmth, and comfort to your home. You can add in pieces that will provide that by adding an extra rug, different types of baskets, (wicker or wire) a plant or a few twigs for decor. The more texture the better!
Blankets/Throw Pillows- The weather will soon start to get cooler and you’ll find yourself spending a lot more time indoors. Cozy up your living space by adding a few more throw pillows and several soft and comfy blankets in your living space.
Candles- Candles add instant ambience! I love spending my evenings this time of year cozied up on the couch with candles lit all around me. It’s the easiest way to make a room feel warm and cozy!
Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice- Stock up on supplies to make your favorite fall drinks and desserts. Whether it’s hot cider, hot chocolate or your favorite pumpkin spice recipe keep a few extra supplies on hand to treat yourself or a guest.
I hope your loving this time of year as much as I do and feeling inspired to cozy up your space for fall! What are some of your favorite ways to transition your home for fall? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you.
