IMG_6122

It’s Kentucky Derby day!! Anyone hosting their very own Derby party today?! It’s always been a dream of mine to get to attend the horse race all dressed up in a big fancy hat sipping on a traditional Mint Julep. Anybody else have that on their Bucket List?! This pretty little cherry lime mint julep is perfect for anyone hosting a party! The recipe is below for anyone wanting to try something a little different from the traditional Mint Julep recipe. What are some of your favorite Kentucky Derby party ideas??

Cherry Lime Mint Julep 🍒

INGREDIENTS:
2 oz bourbon
1/2-3/4 oz cherry purée, depending on how sweet the cherries are (or around 8 muddled cherries)
2 teaspoons lime juice
1 tsp sugar
10 medium mint leaves
A sprig for garnishing
Crushed ice
DIRECTIONS:
Add cherry purée (or muddle cherries) to a frosted glass with the sugar and lime juice. Add mint leaves + gently muddle.

Fill half the glass with crushed ice, add the bourbon + stir. Top with the rest of the ice. Smack mint sprig to release the oils + add to the crushed ice. ❤️

Keep shining, A. Flavio
